It used to be that if you needed your sewer system repaired, plumbers would have to dig large trenches in your yard and throughout your landscaping to access your pipes. This repair service is extensive, costly, and time-consuming. Fortunately, modern technology has made it so that you can repair and replace pipes within your sewer system without any invasive digging. At Drain Masters, we are proud to offer trenchless sewer repair and replacement services in Anchorage. Rather than dig up your property, our expert plumbers and drain technicians are able to effectively perform repairs and replacements with minimal damage.
if there is an existing access point, we don’t have to dig at all. We use hot water, or sometimes steam, to cure the line, allowing us to perform these services year round. The only times we would have to dig any kind of hole or small trench would be to replace a section of collapsed pipe, one with a significant off-set, or one with a belly. We would typically just dig that portion, replace it, and then line the entire sewer line.
This method only requires a small access pit to be dug at the end of the pipe in need of repair or replacement. Once there is an entry point, a flexible, resin-coated tube is pushed through your old sewer pipe. Compressed air is blown into the sleeve to press it towards the inside walls of the old pipe. As the resin hardens, it creates a solid pipe within the old one that closely resembles a heavy-duty PVC pipe. Although the new pipe will have a slightly reduced diameter, it is smooth and impenetrable.
Pipe lining can be done in all cases except when the original pipe has collapsed, or sections have become disjointed.
