What the Work Actually Looks Like
You work in people's homes, not on job sites. Single-family houses, condos, and duplexes across Anchorage, Eagle River, Chugiak, and Girdwood. Roughly 4,000 jobs a year go through the company.
Most of Anchorage's housing stock went up between the 1950s and 1980s. You will spend real time on galvanized supply lines, cast iron drains, and frost-damaged sewer lines. Diagnosis matters here more than speed.
Phones are answered Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm and Saturday from 9am to 3pm. There is no 24/7 on-call rotation.

Where the Job Goes From Here
Technicians are hired to move up, and training is ongoing and supported. The path runs in three stages.
Drain Technician
Start unlicensed. Learn diagnosis, clearing, and customer communication on residential calls alongside a senior technician.
Camera Specialist
Move into sewer camera inspection, locating, and reporting. This is where the harder diagnostic work sits.
Sewer Replacement Sales
Scope and sell trenchless and full replacement work, with commission on service agreements, upgrades, and system work.
Built to Support the Work
Unlimited Earning Potential
Pay tracks performance rather than a fixed hourly ceiling.
A Truck You Take Home
Company-supplied, maintained, and stocked, so your morning starts at the first job rather than the shop.
Tools, Parts, and Safety Gear
Provided or reimbursed, including the camera and jetting equipment the job calls for.
An iPad and Field Software
Job history, pricing, and photos in one place, so you are not rebuilding paperwork at the end of the day.
Upfront Pricing to Work Behind
The homeowner sees the price before work starts. You are not negotiating at the end of a job.
A Crew That Sticks Around
Family-owned and locally run, with company outings and technicians who stay for years.

Talk With Us
A conversation about your experience, what you want the job to turn into, and how the pay structure works.
Before You Apply
Not for most roles. The maintenance plumber, drain technician, and install crew positions are open to unlicensed applicants with mechanical aptitude and a valid Alaska driver's licence. The journeyman plumber role requires an Alaska journeyman licence. Training toward higher-skill work is provided once you are on the crew.
Base pay plus performance. Anchorage technicians come off a flat hourly rate early, and earnings after that reflect the jobs you complete and how well you handle them. Bonuses, spiffs, and commission apply to service agreements, product upgrades, and system work. Nothing caps what a strong technician takes home. Exact figures get covered in your first conversation with us.
Residential only. Drain Masters serves single-family homes, condos, and duplexes across Anchorage, Eagle River, Chugiak, and Girdwood. There is no new construction and no commercial rotation. The work is diagnosis and repair in occupied homes rather than rough-in on a job site.
No. Drain Masters runs daytime hours rather than a 24/7 emergency operation, so Anchorage technicians are not carrying an overnight pager. The office takes calls weekdays from 8am to 5pm and Saturdays from 9am to 3pm. Urgent jobs get prioritized inside the schedule instead of pulling someone out of bed at 2am.
Technicians move from general drain work into camera inspection and locating, and from there into sewer replacement scoping and sales. Both paths carry higher pay and commission. Ongoing training and education are supported, and advancement is based on performance rather than time served.
